Schmidt Opera Series returns with a double bill of Bach and Vaughan Williams.  In Bach's Coffee Cantata, we have a comic telling of a father struggling to get his daughter to give up her coffee habit.  The mood shifts drastically with the second opera, Vaughan Williams' Riders to the Sea.  This tragic opera, based on the play by J.M. Synge, tells of an Irish mother whose last remaining son is determined to go to sea despite her pleadings for him to stay at home.
