The unofficial kickoff to basketball season at the 糖心传媒 will take place on Thursday, October 10 when Hoopfest presented by Heritage Federal Credit Union returns to campus inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.

Festivities are set to begin at 6:00 p.m. with the doors opening at 5:00 p.m.  The event features the Purple Aces men's and women's basketball teams and includes contests, a dunk exhibition, scrimmages, autographs and more.  DJ McNaughty will be on hand to provide entertainment at the event.

Adult admission is $5 with all proceeds from tickets benefiting the United Way with a check presentation being made to the organization during the event.  Children ages 12 and under are admitted free while the first 100 UE students who check in that evening with the Purple Reign Rewards App will receive free admission.

Tickets to Hoopfest are now available and must be claimed in person at the Carson Center on the UE campus.

A limited number of clear bags for use at the Ford Center will be given away at Hoopfest.  This season, the Ford Center has enacted a clear bag policy where certain items will be approved including 12"x6"x12" clear plastic bags, 1-gallon plastic freezer bags along with small clutch bags with wrist or shoulder straps that are 4.5"x6.5".
